Marrakesh. A nice city in Morocco. One of the points where the distance between Europe and Africa is not really big. A country where a lot of Dutch citizens are having roots. Themselves or their parents. Making a better life in the Netherlands.
A life that can not be made easily there. Leaving behind their culture and their family. Everyone should realize that it is not an easy thing to do. The Frisian have also still theirs own language , character and style of living. The Brabantine are also still flamboyant and Burgundian. Should you let people renounce their origin and culture. Looking at the populistic people , groups and politicians. Yes. And if you make a mistake quickly go back to “start”. Where you came from. But you are going via jail. Stigmatizing stories and ideas about migrants are flying through the media. Neither fish nor fowl. Mostly not- and untrue.
The Marrakesh Pact is a declaration with a meaning. Nobody can tell you the meaning. The meaning is something you have to make with your own mind. You can only do that if you read and make an interpretation of it. That is why I have added the pact here.
Read it yourself. Make your own judgement. According your own logic. Along values where you have thought about. Without letting in the ego of other people. What do you find important. Human values. Economical motives. Let your own wisdom be a guide for you and nothing else.
